Spring cleaning in the old folks home

My 4th time visiting the old folks home, this time it's in Villa Francis Home. I`m prepared to do some volunteery work over there with my best effort, today is blackjack day coz of the upcoming new year with the folks so we were there to help out to guide them. Tears flow down from a friend's eye as he sees the hardship they are going through. When she mentioned ' Blackjack ' , i was like OMG i almost forgot how to play LOL. For now im done helping them to do a few spring cleaning and decorations. Im pleased that i brought joy to all of them today. See them on chinese new year.

This movie has been up since 2002 and I finally got myself to watch it. No, it isnt really about piano. It is an award winning film of a Jewish-Polish musician's adaption of an autobiography.
This is about a survival of a pianist " Władysław Szpilman (Adrien Brody)" , a famous Polish Jewish pianist working for Warsaw Radio, sees his whole world collapse with the outbreak of World War II and the invasion of Poland on 1 September 1939. After the radio station is rocked by explosions from German bombing, Szpilman goes home and learns that the United Kingdom and France have declared war on Nazi Germany.

Im starting to create a music autography of friends. Basically it's to bring their opinions on music closer to my understandings. Everyone listens to music, it's one of a daily routine . Therefore i need to hear from each and everyone of you.

The stay in Germany made me realised : Am i closer to the real world? Where people start to despise me over and over, they made me hate the world so much I`d rather be alone. They are naive, weak and biased. It doesnt affect my enjoyment on my Berlin Trip. Wheeeeee. I`l be back there again on day. Imma save up and travel back again !!

I have a friend who told me that chinese or english Pop songs are lame to play on piano, i agree to a certain extend, someone needs to make a better chord progression for those songs. That is one of the reason i Dont really enjoy playing chinese or english pop songs, even if i did, I`d stop the daily practice on it.

Japanese songs have d sweet and peaceful chords IMO thats why i enjoy playing zanarkand and aerith theme.

New Delhi, May 18 (IANS) If pimples and acne scars on the face are bothering you, try putting some garlic juice or a mud pack. Or if you are game for medical help, laser treatment and chemical peels are an alternative, say dermatologists.

The acne problem usually starts around the age of 10-13. Though many get rid of it by their 20s, for some it lingers.

'In teenagers, there are two things that trigger acne problem. First is hormonal changes in their body. In boys, it is the increased secretion of testosterone and in girls, the levels of both testosterone and oestrogen rises,' Chytra V. Anand, cosmetic dermatologist, Kosmoderma Clinics, Bangalore, told IANS.

'Due to these hormones the oil secretion in the body increases and the skin becomes oily and more prone to acne and breakouts. The other trigger for acne is bacterial infection,' she added.

Anand says about 90 percent of teenagers suffer from acne in varying degrees of severity. It has a psychological effect on youngsters who want to have clean and clear skin.

Various medical and natural treatments are available.

'Medicated creams and face washes are there. Topical treatments for teenaged acne include benzoyl peroxide, sulphur, resorcinol, or salicylic acid are there. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has found these effective for treating acne,' said Meenakshi Agarwal, a Mumbai-based cosmetic surgeon.

If the condition worsens, doctors prescribe oral antibiotics for bacterial infection, hormonal pills and light therapy with lasers.

The lasers can cost Rs.5,000-Rs.10,000.

'Chemical peels and microdermabrasion are used to lighten post-acne scarring and cost anything between Rs.1,500 and Rs.3,000,' said Indu Tolani, dermatologist, Clinic Dermatec.

'Post-acne scars can be cleared by clean-ups with salicylic or glycolic acid at a clinic. Gentle exfoliation with these acids helps in taking out blackheads and whiteheads. Also, the skin becomes acidic and the bacteria doesn't grow in an acidic environment,' said Anand.

But she warns teenagers against random treatments at beauty salons, saying: 'It is important that the clean-up should be undertaken under the guidance of a dermatologist in a clinic.'

Some natural remedies like garlic juice, clay packs and lemon juice also help in avoiding acne and lightens scars.

'To avoid acne, wash your skin twice a day. Make sure that you use a mild face wash that is meant for your skin type. Washing your face too frequently, especially with harsh cosmetics, can aggravate your acne. Try to avoid processed foods like white bread and noodles as they often trigger outbreaks,' Agarwal told IANS.

'Use a face pack made of Fuller's earth (non-plastic clay or claylike earthy material) at least once or twice a week. This will help extract excess sebum and is therefore one of the best natural methods to treat acne.

'You can also apply a little garlic juice on your face, for about an hour at least once a week. Although garlic juice will kill off acne-causing bacteria, do not keep it for too long as it can aggravate sensitive skin,' she added.

Mix equal parts of milk cream and lemon juice and apply on your face, says Anand. The lactic acid and citric acid in these two (respectively) help in lightening the scars.

Tolani says natural remedies help, but medical treatments are more efficient.

'A lot of people try out natural, home-based remedies like clay packs to cut back the oil from their face. Some use gram flour to scrub away the debris and acne-laden skin, but these treatments are not sufficient and can't replace the efficacy of medical treatments,' she said.

Recently watching Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi. A.k has finally came to watch this Anime series. Perhaps, this anime was intro-ed from the song " God knows - Aya Hirano " .

Haruhi, the girl who wish for aliens and espers, she is smart, powerful and energetic. She has a mind for adventure and finds the current old world too boring.
What Haruhi does not know is that she has an outstanding power to change the environment around her as she pleases.
Subconciously, She formed SOS, a club to investigate happenings. Haruhi forcibly invites her classmate Kyon who narrates the series, and similarly recruits three additional members into her club: the silent bibliophile Yuki Nagato, the shy and timid Mikuru Asahina, and the friendly "mysterious exchange student" Itsuki Koizumi.
I am looking forward to complete the whole of this season.

whats past is past, that is why we use past tense in our everyday life ba.. looking back to my archive ( posts in year 2006 and 2007 ) . I noticed how things changes and there is only a few specific ones i whined about in the past, I hated myself as always letting my inner self controls me. Never will i look back again but only enjoy the countless blessings from the love ones. Okay, what in the blue hell am i stressing on this ?

As for me, it may sound like i dont even know myself anymore. 2 old friend of mine called up, I wanted to meet them, but my heart went vice versa. Why do i have to make this so difficult? How Agony. haha. Maybe I`m packed with my tight schedule. My apologies to them for not getting back to contact, and maybe, just maybe, one "fine" day.

There was a friendly guy I met during my sec school. We played lan at hougang green and hes one of the most dress-up gd-looking guy whenever i sees him, i go like " woah " .. Then we lost contact after I quitted going to Hougang green. Today, when i viewed his facebook, he is in jail. I feel a deep sense of pity. Nevertheless, some people gonna learn things to hard way. I wish him the best and hopefully he gets out of that miserable place soon.

If ya still wanna ketchup wif me as in my life through reading my blog, I`ve been practicing alot of piano recently. Theres a few pieces I need to finish learning asap. I locked myself at home and never have the urge of going out. Hardcore I would say ! But promising I wouldnt go crazy as it doesnt kill my braincells. Alchohol does ! It would even be great if someone could share his/her musical experience with me, i appreciate your thoughts and concerns , really . Working on Jay chou duet, a short 50 seconds duet in the show " secret ". ("shrugs") this is gonna be the first Jay chou song I would choose to learn. The music started with simple and smoothing staccato(jumping bass) . The melody and the bass sounded brillant when played with a fast tempo. For once, i thought that I`m a changed person. No, it isnt true =) .

This post isnt about me but it's about O2jam, this piece is damn rock in o2jam but
on the other hand sounds romantic for its original piano version entitled " Fantasie Impromptu by Chopin". Iuno how the heck he comes up with such beautiful piece.
It is damn difficult to play, no joke. He uses many cross-rhythms (the right hand plays semiquavers against the left hand playing triplets) and a ceaselessly moving note figuration and is in cut time. He wrote this piece when he was 24 years old..

Seven ways to silence a grumling gut.

No.1 : Know what ( and when) to drink.
Think of your stomach as a balloon. As you eat, it stretches. And once it expands to its max capacity, the sensors throughout your digestive system tell your brain's amygdala that it's time to stop chowing down - regardless of what you`ve filled your belly with. As nutrition advisor Alan Aragon tells it: "Eating half a roll of toilet paper would make you feel full. "
To stretch yoru stomach without stuffing it with calories ( or paper products), you need water: Aragon recommends drinking a glass 30 mins b4 a meal and sipping frequently while eating. Water-rich foods - soups, salad, fruits and vegs - will also fill your belly without contributing excessive calories.

No.2 : Fill up with Fibre
Fibre draws water from your body and the food you`ve eaten, and transports it to your intestinal tract, helping to deliver that meal-ending satiation. Fibre may boost satiety, too. Since it passes thru the body undigested, fibre slows the absorption of nutrients and makes you feel fuller longer. Adding 6g of soluble fibre to yogurt provided the satiating power of an additional 260 calories. To reap the satiating benefits of fibre, aim for 25g to 35g daily. Refined carbohydrates, on the other hand - like in those doughnuts - are satiety killers.
Too much sugar brings on a rapid spike in insulin, which cuases a sugar crash later and triggers a craving for more food.

No.3 : Pack in the protein
Protein, your muscle-growing fuel, also has the power to raise levels of peptides- synthesised amino acids in your stomach. Recommends aiming for 20g to 40g of protein at each meal.

No.4 : Savour the flavours.
Your belly is rumbling, and a waiter sets a juicy burger in front of you. Resist the urge to unhinge your jaws and swallow it whole. Thoroughly chewing your food increases what researchers call " oro-sensory factors", which send satiation signals to your brain, helping u feel full on less food.

No.5 : Trick your belly full.
U cant trust your gut. Maybe you`ve heard about this : PPl who ate soup from bowls that continuously refilled ate 73% more than those who ate from ordinary bowls. Dole out a portion of food noto a smaller plate and immediately place the rest in the refrigerator. Once you eat, the visual cue of a clean plate signal that u`ve had enough - the leftovers will stay out of the sight and out of mind in the fridge.

No. 6 : Avoid distraction at dinner.
What u're doing while u eat might be as important as wad you're eating. U're likely to consume much more food and eat for longer periods of time when you're distracted by tv, music or a computer. Eating while distracted interrupts brain-to-stomach satiation signals, making it harder to monitor your food intake. Also, distraction raises the risk of overeating the wrong types of foods( think popcorn at the movies).
The takeaway from all this is simple: When you eat, actually eat. Grab a seat. Focus on your meal. Don't check your email or watch tv. Pay attention to your first plate of food and you might find that you dont need to go back for seconds.

No.7 : Downsize your snacks
As longa s you're eating satiety-inducing nutrients at every meal, you'll reduce your urge for food between meals. But if your gut's growling and your next meal is far away, a snack can elp prevent you from bulldozing though dinner.
Grab food that's high in protein or fibre, like beef jerky, nuts or cottage cheese, and keep your consumption under 200 calories. That way, you'll keep gut-gurgling at bay without packing in a mini-meal. Wadever u do, skip the processed snacks tat prime your gut for more, more , more. It's how a doughnut leads to a growling stomach b4 lunch. And it's how you can eat all day and never feel full.

Ippt - Im good for a try. I told the sgt to include me for tommorow's Ippt as to know how much i fare. Back in the tekkong days, I wasnt 100% and all I see for myself are just failures in history.
Ever since joining 48 SAR for a course I`ve manage to participate IPPT with them but I was put into a detail of pure strangers from other coy. Everyone was like looking at me at times cause im from a different unit.
My Sgt told me that im gonna fail coz he sees me playing psp most of the times. What an absolute pathetic judgement T_T.

The first station was shuttle run, yeah it goes smoothly. Didnt expect them to held in on a wet floor, gotta be extra careful eh ??
I manage to do 14 for chin ups..
Sit ups was fine..
Standing broad jump is a headache, at least my tailbone is recovering and Im able to jump..

We marched to the ATI parade square for our 2.4 brief. The 3-rounded route consist of passing by slopes, corners and vehicle shac. I guessed all my practices payed off. I manage to get silver for 2.4. My timing was like.. 11.15 mins? Far from gold.

Looking forward for a gold, next time =D

3 days ago was a death annervesary of a friend of mine. No matter where is he now, i still wanna wish him the best. Why do humans have to keep reminding themselves to treasure the ones they perceived? It should be regimental. Even myself, I have to keep constantly remind myself to love..

Friday( Booking out day )

I told Jasmine that I cant guarrentee a a fix time for dinner but in the end we manage to meet up for one. The sickening thing of booking out everytime was the time taken from my camp to my hometown. The dinner Thats in the Thai-express, the last time i feast on thai-express was during chee hwee's birthday and we have a meal a hot heart-burning chilli ginger chicken. This time round im trying on the bangkok chicken rice and its really nice. We also had a prawnie bread and fried banana with coconut icecream. It was generous of her to send me to the bustop when I was leaving.

Outing with sl on saturday, the greedy her ordered a 2-person meal and i have to help her finish it. I`d better not talk behind her back she`ll get mad at me >_<. We had Swensen with the salad buffet and we couldnt finish the banana crumble. We caught the movie MEGAMIND 3d , storyline was unique and smooth, graphic was good and most of the characters are cute looking. I would suggest this would be the best animation of the year.
If you r looking for a decoration for ur house then I think Vivocity is a wise choice for christmas. I would say the perfect place to shop up and gather ur items for this very event that is coming so close !

Apart from the various movies relating to myths and fantasies, Narnia was one of my all-time favourite movies to enjoy. By just sitting down with a pack of sweetcorns on my hand, i would enjoy the adventurous sceneries and reinforce the coolest mysteries that lies in each action. Percy jackson is another well made film IMO compared to the Clash of the titans from 2010. At times, we shall not be rational, be imaginative !

Currently, to be more specific, " up till now ". Theres absolutely everything possible nothing to do at all. To add up kaya and butter to my life I`ve come up with my basic schedule to be followed each day. Eating 4 meals everyday and doing nothing could be a horror to my lifestyle. It is a sin to myself and a threat to my fitness. Which is why I`m going back to my gym regime and diet everyday and somethings have yet to be out to my mind yet.. Im gonna study my "mother tongue" .. You may laugh if u read this but I admit my language suk to the core.

2 weeks more to be posted out, a factor contained in my heart and guess i`m gonna face the fact that i`m not taking the Ippt and soc test thanks to my stupidity of being injured. Theres a chance that I will not be allowed to post out with the cliques. Not able to attend the parades.

I didnt knew that being mentally ready and confident would result me to failure, incorrect techniques worsen this situation and I wasn't swift and decisive until realising that stubborness hurts even more. People out there wouldn't understand and nobody likes being looked down.

Wtf happen to my right quadriceps, unable walk properly like i used to.
This week we had Individual Markmanship Test and Basic Fire Package.
My first time firing life rounds with different positions in 50 m and 100m, the recoil impact of the singapore assault rifle was big it just feels great shooting. It didnt give me much problem I`m gonna take more good care of it now. It ended at 11 pm and we went back to company line to sleep at 1.30 am. Gonna get ready for next Route March =9

Field camp week

1000 words report in the review of our field camp and here i`m sharing with you guys my experience.
And i declared using substanded english writing XD

5 days of hardship has finally been over, we went through tough chronic times when all of us gained demanding skills and techniques. Our spirit are bonded and our body grows stronger than we are, our soul closer to our heart than ever after. We stomped our way through storms and clouds and we took the life that we have and do it our best.

After the 8 clique route march to the field camp site, we got punished because of our wiped out faces. The high knee-ing with our SBO attire, doubling here and there, building up our basha tents were the exhausting part of the day. Our basha tents weren't parallel with the other platoons which results on us rebuil ding it. Throughout the day, we also watched demonstrations from our sergeants on crossing dangerous areas, “Y” and “T” junctions, contact front and right, field disciplines, leopard crawl, baby crawl and ghost walk.

On the 2nd day, we had 5 BX with Run, FCO practice and how to react to Arti drills. The FCO has taught us how to communicate with our mates when engaging or retreating from the enemy. Firstly, the incharge have to sound off “ contacted “ and shoot. The FCO then started with a command “ Group , enemy straight ahead, 100, enemy behind tree, rapid/regular, fire”. The members have to echo out everything that the IC says. For example “ Group , Ic advance, cover me “ Then the
members have to say “ Cover You “. We also learnt to halt when doing night duty. Firsly, we would shout halt, demand the suspect to rifle overhead, ic must advance and provide password, if password is correct he may advance, if password is wrong he is not allowed to move.
During the arti drills, we have to unsling our rifle and stuff it under our body with ourselves proning down, next we have to cover our neck with both of our hands. We had our nightwalk.

The third day we got to build our shell scrape within 4 hours, all of us manage to complete it before
the timeline despite of our exhaustion.A Shell scrape (also referred to as a shallow grave) is a type of military earthwork. While similar to a Defensive position in that the purpose is to shield a single soldier from artillery, mortar and direct small arms fire, it is not intended to be used for fighting from. Shell scrapes are generally hastily excavated manually (i.e. with immediately available means such as the entrenching tool and are temporary constructions. They are shallow, and large enough to accommodate at least a single soldier lying down and kneeling. In some situations they can be dug to accommodate two soldiers and their equipment. For protection from the elements a poncho is often tied off / staked out at the edges or bungeed to a nearby tree. This way a soldier can sleep in his shell scrape more comfortably with cover overhead. At night, we cooked magee mee with our mass tin. Letters were issued to us for the sake of motivation.

On the fourth day we had our Group Battle Course, we had ourselves soak with rain water and mud.
The waiting for each detail to proceed were kind of lengthy as there was quite a distance and mission to complete during the course. During the wait, we were told to leopard crawl our dirty body into the pool of mud. Our ILPV, pouches, pants and long fall were soaked with extreme dirt.
It is time for my detail to proceed and we walked our way straight to the first mission which is contacting right, we screwed up a little but our kind commanders told us our mistakes. Then it rains heavily and the 3 of us strolling to our next mission which was the crossing of Y junction, we failed in this mission but theres no one to blame.

I experience both positive and negative outcome from the trainings in the field camp. The positives were the combat skills I achieved during the GBC, the teamwork of our bonds, collaborative spirit of our platoon, perserverance in our heart. The punishments were meant to amend our mistakes and we proposed to improve our deterence. I have missed the tear-drop night as I came back to join the platoon after helping out a fainted hyper-ventilation mate. The field camp has equipped me with self-motivation, independence and improved combat fitness.

The negatives that I had were the exhaustion and anxiousness I have to go through, 5 days without bathing, without enough sleep, without using handphone to keep in touch with family. I miss my parents very much and I`ll make sure that I`ll return home safely after the field camp. The 1/3 alert and digging of shell scrape hurts my spine to an extreme. I lost 3 kg.

What I learnt about myself is a rather surprise than limited, I have been very sloppy during the field camp, I made several mistakes that brought my team down in the group battle course, I learnt that I am not an enthusiastic and helpful person because I tried very hard to help myself.

In Conclusion, learning to use camouflage to hide from the enemy. Putting in camo is not a simple task and we have to put it on fast, covering our face, ears and neck with green, first stripe crossing our left ear to our left chin, 2nd stripe from our left forehead through our eyes to our mouth.The third stripe is none other than from our right eyes diagonally down to our right chin.
Communicating in silence using hand signals.
Moving through jungle both during the day and night, and moving in different formations. Attacking an enemy’s position.Responding when under attack. Digging of shell scrape, a shallow hole in the ground for you to hide in. Completing the battle course. Field camp equips me with necessary survival skills in a combat environment and we will never forget the best and tough times we had.

Nowadays, i feel so empty, an empty feeling of distanced, far far far away. A feeling that I cant describe and I cant avoid.

My mum has quitted her job and today was her first day of freedom. Glad that she doesnt have to face those parasites and hippocrypts at work again. I will be enjoying healthier home cooks today. Thanks to my lovely Mum!

Went k-ing with Liting, daren, shing juan, yvonne and lyna. I was impressed by their vocals and especially Daren, he puts all his emotions into each song he sang which develops good resonance. Didnt expect this childhood friend of mine is so talented.

As the technology advances, social networking has been a trend and there goes the hot topic on "facebook". In this post, i would like to focus on the privacy limitations in the social application. For instance, I added all the contacts on my msn to the facebook which it shudnt be the case, several comments that I would like to deliver, because of the " friends " that I added to my facebook, it made me think twice.
Another example, being either sensitive or grudge, a small thing would lead to ppl gossiping about it. To be specific, I dedicated a simple song in facebook, y do those ppl make it so complicated? and Rolled the ball back to me.
I care, that's why I`m writing this post.

Have been listening to the song below and demon fire etude, my C drive has always been taking up " free space " to "filled space" by its own. Deleting browsing history and caches dont work , as well as disk frag. I had only 2 mp3 files in my c drive left, and 10000 windows files that fills up to 70 gb/70 gb. One day I will reformat my comp. Technically, would be so troublesome because I`d haf to get the cdkey again to upgrade back to windows 7.

Ordinary day, walked the wrong way to work in the morning and I have no idea what Im thinking at the point of time.
Time passes very fast at work, as always.

Yamaha Piano hunting,
thanks someone for flying me areoplane and make me go alone. Lol !

Sales person was indeed very nice, he just lets me try as many pianos in the showroom as i want, though I can feel the other staffs looks fishy when I`m testing on several of their Yamaha Pianos. I am eyeing for Yamaha U1j and Yamaha U1,
they have the better touch over the ones that cost less than 5ks. Big difference in sound and touch as well. However the Yamaha U1 cost $9k , to not even think of purchasing a 1st hand U1 =.=. My attention is focused on Yamaha U1J. It costs $6.3k.

Next would be Asia Piano Company the last stop for piano hunting, I wouldnt be heading to other stores like Music lodge, gramercy, roberts piano and Emannuel and son. If I can make a choice between a 2nd hand U1 and a 1st hand U1j, I would purchase the best of it , in my opinion .

I simply love Piano Hunting! My first stop - Cristofori at Funan IT

The service guy was kind and formal which is good but produces a sense of coldness. Nevertheless, he lets me play on several pianos in their showroom.

Starts with the 4k worth of Weber piano, sounds blur and simple, toning and brightness were kinda unclear, simple and affordable.

Next was the German Pianos, heavy bass and blasting sounds, over budget :/ . Then he lead me to a room where a German piano worth of 10k and he invited a service gal to demo for me on that piano, and surprising it was the same girl that served me in Bishan's Cristofori a few months back. She played Marriage D'Amour on C.Bechstein , the sound of this german piano has the highest quality tonal range. Her service was casual. I was told about the details in purchasing an upright piano.

I was then brought to this Kayserburg asian piano, moderately heavy bass probably made of europeon strings . This can be considered. Overal height is 123 cm.

Lastly, I'm attracted to this Cristofori 131 MD upright grand piano, moderate base and great performance, it does give me sparks . A unique appearance of an affordable upright grand of 131cm which is my main consideration of this christofori shop.

I`ve received a surprise howdy phone call from an old friend of mine, I'm certainly convinced by his words of concern and well its been a long time since I hang out with him and their group. Missing the moments I had with them during the secondary school times, its just like... a carefree life ! Especially the part on cycling from our hometown to east coast park, it's just great !

2 hours to figure out how to run Ps2 Emulator on Pc.
Just when i thought i could possibly run it successfully when debugging all the errors,

I had a great time in sentosa organized by Claris. I rushed back from there early so that I could record these 2 songs, the first piece is called " The Letter by Yukie Nishimura ", favour by xl and so i decide to dedicate this song to her . Next, It would be doraemon theme. I tried very hard to resist myself from shaking with the beats while playing doraemon its really tempting. I would say the part after 0:12 requires more practice and these aint perfect ones. Just wanna post it up for the sake of sharing. Oh well enjoy it dudes, I added title and credits ;p
